All guided dives include a certified guide, a full safety briefing and site selection tailored to the day’s conditions.
Guided shore dives – Single or two-tank options.
Boat dives- Includes boat access and surface support.
Night dives – A calm, guided one-tank night dive at selected sites.
Equipment rental – Masks, fins, BCDs, regulators, wetsuits and computers are available on request.

Do I need experience to join a Try Dive?
No. It’s designed for complete beginners and includes shallow-water practice first.
How long does an Open Water course take?
Usually 2–3 days depending on your comfort and availability.
Are tanks and gear included?
Included for some programs. For specialty courses and private dives, gear can be rented.Scuba tanks and diving equipment are included in selected programs at our Scuba School Bonaire, including the SSI Open Water Course and SSI Try Dive.
For SSI Specialty Courses, guided dives and private dives, scuba gear can be rented separately. You can also rent scuba equipment if you want to explore Bonaire’s famous shore diving sites independently and enjoy the freedom to dive the island at your own pace.
Our rental equipment includes everything you need for a comfortable dive, and you can choose to rent a full set of scuba gear or only the equipment you need. Scuba tanks, including weights, are $13.50 per tank. Air and nitrox options are available, along with different tank and air/nitrox packages.
Whether you are taking an SSI diving course, joining a guided dive, booking a private dive or exploring Bonaire independently, we can provide the tanks and scuba gear you need.

Do you work with small groups?
Yes! At Scuba School Bonaire, we focus on personal attention and relaxed diving experiences. Most of our SSI courses, Try Dives and guided dives are 1-on-1 or offered in very small groups.
When we work with a small group, it is typically a group of friends, family members or people who already know each other. We do not combine unrelated guests into a small group whenever possible. This means you can enjoy your scuba diving experience in Bonaire with the people you are traveling with, in a comfortable and familiar setting.
For beginners and certified divers alike, our small-group approach allows for more personal guidance, flexibility and a relaxed pace. Whether you are taking your SSI Open Water Course, trying scuba diving for the first time or enjoying a guided dive in Bonaire, we keep the experience personal and focused on you.

Yes! We offer guided scuba dives in Bonaire for certified divers who would like to explore Bonaire’s beautiful underwater world with an experienced local dive professional.
A guided dive is a great option if you are new to diving in Bonaire, would like to discover new dive sites, or simply prefer to have a local guide with you. Our guided dives are kept personal and relaxed, with a focus on your experience, comfort and interests.
We work with 1-on-1 dives or very small groups, typically for friends, family members or people who already know each other. This allows us to provide personal attention and adapt the dive to the experience level and wishes of the divers.
If you prefer to explore Bonaire independently, we also offer scuba gear and tank rental, giving certified divers the freedom to enjoy Bonaire’s famous shore diving at their own pace.
Do you offer SSI Specialty Courses?
Yes! At Scuba School Bonaire, we offer a range of SSI Specialty Courses on Bonaire for certified divers who want to expand their diving knowledge, develop new skills and discover new ways to enjoy the underwater world.
Depending on your interests and experience, our SSI Specialty Courses include:
- Invasive Species Management Specialty (Lionfish Hunting) – Learn how to safely identify and manage invasive lionfish while helping protect Bonaire’s marine ecosystem.

Is SSI the same as PADI?
SSI and PADI are two of the world’s leading scuba diving training organizations. Both offer internationally recognized scuba diving certifications and follow internationally accepted training standards.
The main difference is the way the training is structured and delivered. At Scuba School Bonaire, we teach through SSI (Scuba Schools International), offering courses such as the SSI Open Water Course, SSI Try Dive and SSI Specialty Courses.
If you already have a PADI certification, you can still dive on Bonaire and continue your diving education with SSI. Your existing certification is recognized, and we can advise you on the best SSI course or diving experience based on your current certification and experience.
So, whether you choose SSI or PADI, the important thing is that you receive proper training from a qualified instructor and become a confident, responsible and safe diver.
