30 november 2022 – Running a small scale guesthouse on Bonaire was once a dream. Five years later, it has become our everyday reality. We moved from the Netherlands in 2017, started Oasis Guesthouse Bonaire shortly after, and turned it step by step into a comfortable and modern place where guests feel at home.
It’s already 5 years ago we made the decision to move to Bonaire and started Oasis Guesthouse Bonaire.
We are John and Kim, an easy-going couple with a deep love for the island. Moving to Bonaire felt natural to us. We wanted to live close to nature, enjoy the warm island lifestyle and create a guesthouse where travellers can stay in a calm and relaxed setting.
From the beginning, we chose to build Oasis as a small scale guesthouse. A place with personal contact, a peaceful atmosphere and space for guests to connect with the island in their own way.

Why we decided to move to Bonaire?
The tropical climate, the friendly culture and of course the beautiful turquoise water were our main reasons to come here. We are both passionate scuba divers, and Bonaire is one of the most inspiring places in the world to explore the underwater world.
BUT Bonaire is much more than diving alone. Over the years, we explored the island beyond the well-known dive sites.
